Patience (Audio)

By: Tonya Ross

I am sitting here
Waiting patiently
For your eyes to open
For you to notice me.

Patience is a virtue
Momma always said,
So calm and cool I sit,
Passing time, I dread.

How can you not see it
Tell me won’t you please,
If I lived a little closer,
Would there be a sweet release?

Unsure of how you’re feeling
Not really wanting to know,
For if you reject me,
My hurt would forever show.

Can you open up your eyes,
And will you do it soon,
My heart is strongly longing
Here in this little room.
